Photography

Most of the photos on this blog were taken with a Canon EOS Rebel XSi.  I shoot with the 18-55mm stock lens and a 50mm 1.4 lens.  I also use a Holga 120N and a Canon Powershot point-and-shoot from time to time.  I don't edit my photos in Photoshop or Lightroom, but occasionally adjust brightness and contrast levels using the Canon uploading software.

If you like the photos I post on Blue Plate Special and would like to see more, check out my photography tumblr or my Flickr account.

I enjoy capturing small details, quiet moments, and unusual patterns in my photography.  Food, friends, family, and scenes of domesticity typically fill my camera's viewfinder.  My style is largely observational in that I prefer to not interfere too much with my subjects.  I want my photos to be reflections of reality- realities we might not otherwise notice or appreciate.
